once we had turn round on the caldon we headed back to stoke  we wanted to be there for Thursday as the Halford tours series was in town    a fast bike ride round the city

we left stoke on Saturday heading for the Harecastle Tunnel
as soon as we were out of the tunnel we turned left onto Macclesfield canal

on Monday we had a walk up Mow cop which has a "castle"on top which was built in 1754 as a summerhouse for Randle Wibraham 1 of Rode hall  nice summer house lovely views  mow cop is 1090ft above sea level  it was quite a hill to climb but worth it

Mow Cop

our boat is down there somewhere
next day we heading for Congleton  once moored up i started to do some fishing  never done it before so was lucky to catch my first fish

this was sunset from our mooring

yes that is the sun

while moor here at congleton we could see "The Cloud" which is a hill 1125ft above sea level
you get some lovely views from the top   a lot of stone from here was use in the building of the locks and bridges on the macclesfield canal
